This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or. If no 2026 Ballon d’Or winner is declared by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market is official information from France Football (https://www.francefootball.fr/).

Since 2016 (when journalists only vote), every Ballon d’Or winner had that year’s World Cup, Euros, Copa América, or Champions League. Only exception: 2019 Messi over Van Dijk. And that year the voting rules integrated a “career + class” ponderation. It is not the case anymore in today’s rules. This year, among the main names (Yamal, Kane, Mbappé, Messi), only Yamal won a World Cup. On top of it he won the league. Kane’s case is elite output plus a Bundesliga but historically that is not the winning profile.

The guy didn't even win the young player award in the WC. Cubarsi is more qualified to win this than Lamine. Didn't score the most goals. Didn't provide the most assists. Just nothing. No one wins this award just because his team won the WC while he had no real influence in the team.
